The National Day of the UAE, scheduled for tomorrow at EXPO, has had a preview in Parma, with the visit of the Dubai SME’s management. At the meeting, start a network of business relationships with companies around Parma, also in view of Dubai in 2020.
The meeting between the business women delegation, coming from six different countries, and the PARMAforEXPO working group was made possible thanks to the collaboration with UNIDO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The PARMAforEXPO working group illustrated to the guests of UNIDO – United Nations Industrial Development Organization – the specificity of our agrifood system. During the meeting a joint declaration for cooperation between UPI and UNIDO ITPO Italy was signed. Today a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development also came to Parma.
The delegation was led by the President of the Federation of Industries of the State of Bahia, which is comprised of 1,500 associated companies. The meeting mainly focused on two topics: the specificity of the Parma business system and the excellent business relationships between Parma and Brazil.
The Guangdong TV Journalists, in Italy to cover the upcoming Guangdong Week at the China Pavilion at EXPO 2015, met the City Councillor Casa and the CEO of the PARMAforEXPO working group Azzali. The Chinese guests then visited some companies epitomizing the excellence of our territory.
In view of EXPO 2020 Dubai an institutional representation coming from the smallest of the six states of the United Arab Emirates came to Parma in order to learn from the experience of the PARMAforEXPO marketing project.
The meeting with businesses coming mainly from countries of Sub-Saharan Africa has been organized in collaboration with the European Commission in the frame of the programme ‘From Farm to Fork’ and is aimed at promoting access by local businesses to rapid-growth and increasingly strategic markets.
The institutional meeting has been organized in collaboration with UNIDO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Also the representatives of top Ethiopian food & beverage companies took part in the event. The focus of the meeting held at the premises of UPI – Parma’s Union of Industrialists – was on trade relations between Parma and the East African country.

The Brazilian delegation arriving today to Parma offers an unparalleled opportunity to forge new business alliances in a market which is already deemed to be strategic for the industries of food machinery, pharmaceuticals and agribusiness.
The meeting, organized in joint cooperation with UNIDO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, represents an opportunity to gain a real understanding of the business opportunities in the Caribbean island for the ‘Parma System’ following the normalization of international relations.
