PARMAforEXPO: Parma welcomes today a business delegation from Ghana

The delegation visit is organized in cooperation with UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. The group is led by Ernest Mawuli Agbesi, CEO of National Investment Bank Ltd. and one of the major representatives of the Word Trade Centers Association at Accra.

Parma, July 16, 2015 – The PARMAforEXPO working table welcomes today the first of two delegations from Ghana that are visiting the region during this week. While the Saturday meeting will be of institutional nature, since the arrival of the President of the Republic John Dramani Mahama is expected, the group arrived in Parma this morning is a business delegation. The organization of this meeting has been possible thanks to the cooperation of Sistema Parma with UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

The delegation from Ghana is led by Ernest Mawuli Agbesi, one of the major representatives of the Word Trade Centers Association at Accra. At present, Ghana is the only African country represented within the WTCA. Ernest Mawuli Agbesi is also the CEO of the National Investment Bank Ltd: the first development bank of Ghana, which, since 1963, is strongly committed in the promotion and economic support of the African country industrialization. Thanks to the achieved results, in 2003 the National Investment Bank Ltd received the Award of Best Bank of the Year for its policies on long-term funding and loans. During his one-day visit in Parma, Ernest Mawuli Agbesi is accompanied by 12 delegates, representing a variety of business sectors ranging from the construction industry to the extractive industry, from finance to trade and energy.

On behalf of the PARMAforEXPO working table, the business delegation from Ghana was welcomed at the Chamber of Commerce of Parma by Andrea Zanlari, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Stefano Girasole, Head of the Economic Office of UPI – Parma’s Entrepreneurs‘ Association, and prof. Davide Menozzi, from the Department of Food Science of the University of Parma.

The institutional meeting will be followed in the afternoon by a visit to FBR-ELPO, a company manufacturing machines and complete lines for the processing of tomato and fruits, which thanks to its 50-year activity has become a world leader of the industry.
