For over 200 years, many of Parma’s entrepreneurs have been committed to searching for new technologies to best preserve quality products. A prime example is the tomato, which found fertile terrain in the Province of Parma back in the late nineteenth century, to the extent that our city is now one of the main tomato industry districts in Italy. But there are not only tomatoes: whether sweet or vegetable, of meat or fish, many other preserves are born in Parma. Know-how, first-class raw materials and expert processing are the pillars the local preserve industry has been able to build its success on.
